おばちゃんの一言 The words of a great woman

先日、ここを通りかかったおばちゃんが言った。
The other day an old woman passing by said,

「お蚕飼ってるんかい、今どきえらいね。がんばって下さい、これから栄えることだから。お蚕やる人増えるといいね」
"You raise silkworms? Sounds good. Try hard. I hope more and more people are becoming engaged in sericulture."

養蚕は枯れていくばかりだとかいう声が多数をしめる昨今。
何気なく発せられた一言だととしても、背中を押された気がした。
These days it is often said that the sericulture industry in Japan is dying.
But the words encouraged me, though they were just a thought.

The words my Nepali friend has often said are reminded of with magnificent Himalaya mountains.
